Brad possesses over 15 years of experience in the financial and merchant banking community. Brad has worked on a variety of management disputes, management buyouts and next generation succession transactions. He also has a wide variety of experiences with companies ranging in size from owner-operated to public multinationals in a variety of industries. He previously held positions with Rothschild Canada Limited, Price Waterhouse, Grant Thornton and Coopers and Lybrand (IMBA Internship - Paris, France). Brad was born in Toronto, Canada and received his BA (Psychology) from York University and IMBA from Schulich School of Business. He was awarded his CA designation in 1995, ranking in the top ten percentile. Brad enjoys nature and sits on the board of the Toronto Wildlife Centre. His hobbies include fitness and mixed martial arts. He has participated in 3 charity fights and has a record of 3-0 (1 tko, 2 submissions)
Marvin Pludwinski, BComm

Marvin started his career with Ernst & Whinney, Chartered Accountants, working there for three years. He left accounting to join Premier Salons and Magicuts, a Canadian franchise hair salon operation. In his 15 years with Premier Salons and Magicuts as a senior member of the management team, he helped grow the company from a small operation to one with more than 1200 salons and 6000 employees. Marvin was directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of 300 salons in Canada and the United States, being involved in all aspects of the business including marketing, business strategy, inventory, and finance. Marvin graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Allan Kates, BA, LLB

Allan practiced law with the law firm Peterson Stark Scott as a commercial litigation lawyer in Vancouver for seven years. Allan appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia representing a wide variety of clients. The areas of law in which Allan has practiced include: contract and commercial litigation; partnership and corporate litigation; foreclosures and creditors remedies; real estate litigation; mortgage and lease law; employment law; and family law. During the last three years of his practice, he directed the marketing efforts of Peterson Stark Scott. He was also actively involved in the Canadian Bar Association, serving on the executive board of the Law Practice Management Section, as well as the Trial Lawyers Association. Allan was born in Vancouver and received his B.A. (Economics) from The University of Western Ontario and LL.B. from The University of British Columbia. He remains a member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Kathryn Wortsman
VP Acquisitions & Principal
Kathryn leads all aspects of new acquisitions for Succession as well as assists in the integration and post-transaction transition of each new company into Succession's group of companies. •In the last two years, Kathryn has been instrumental in growing Succession by over $20 million in revenues, primarily through the acquisition and integration of 3 companies WSI Sign Systems, Alphaform Exhibits and Design, and All Systems Go Installations Inc.
Kathryn has over 10 years of private equity and venture capital experience in Canada and the US. Prior to joining Succession, she was a Director at BMO Capital Corporation, a $400MM mezzanine fund with debt and equity investments in Canadian mid-market companies. While at BMOCC, Kathryn held Board positions at Acura Technology Inc and Iogen Corporation. Prior to BMOCC, Kathryn held the roles of Director, Corporate Development at MetLife Inc in New York. Prior to MetLife, she held the position of Vice President and Principal at Constellation Ventures, a media technology venture capital fund with a majority investment from Bear Stearns & Co. Prior to moving to New York, Kathryn held positions at both RBC Dominion Securities and CIBC Capital Partners.
Kathryn holds a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
